Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 511!

Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 511's web site. Boy Scout Troop 511 in Austin TX is sponsored by St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, and was founded in 1972. Over the years, we have had more than 170 young men become Eagle Scouts. We have a lovely outdoor program, including about 10 outdoor outings a year, summer camp and a high adventure trip for older Scouts.

If you're interested in our troop, we encourage you to come visit us at one of our meetings! We meet every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in Huffman Hall on the St. Matthew's Episcopal Church campus. We love to have guests any time. Some meetings are more interesting for visitors to come to, so feel free to contact us if you're wondering which meeting would be best for you to come and check out Troop 511.

Summer Camp (July 6-12) Signup Open

Summer camp 2014 is at Lost Pines. We will be camping at Freedom, our favorite campsite, for the week of July 6 through July 12.

The cost for each scout is $310 + any special merit badge fees.

Eagle CoH for Ryan Satterfield and Ethan Morris

We will be conduction an Eagle Court of Honor on November 23, 2013 at 3:00pm for Ryan Satterfield and Ethan Morris. It will be held in the Sanctuary of Saint Matthews with a reception to follow in Huffman Hall. Everyone in the troop is invited to join us. If you have a younger scout who has not seen a Court of Honor for the Eagle rank this can be a great experience.

Don't forget to signup for Winter Camp - January 1 through January 5th. This is a great time to get those Eagle merit badges when it is cool out at Lost Pines.

Don't Forget - Philmont 2015 Signup by Oct 31

To pre-register for Philmont 2015 please go to the troop calendar event on October 31 and register.

Troop 511 will be registering for the 2015 Philmont lottery. The registration process begins the first week of November. Once we register as a troop, we will be entered into a lottery to determine if we get to go then.

Greenery Fundraiser

The holiday greenery fundraiser has begun. Here's how it works. You will need to get a flyer and an order form, which Mr. Hill will have at the next few meetings. On the form and flyer you will see items in green with a price listed. These are the items that we are selling for group delivery to Austin. They are scheduled to arrive around Thanksgiving, and when come in we'll bring them to a troop meeting or call you. You will then deliver the greenery to the purchaser.
